Treatments

All treatments will involve acupuncture and other treatments maybe used in addition

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, disposable needles at specific points around the body.  These points bring the body back to health and away from pain or disharmony.  It is used for a many different conditions  that impact your mental and physical health.

Acupuncture has been used for 1000s of years to maintain good health.

 

Cupping

If you have seen pictures of cupping it can look a bit daunting, but it is like a reverse massage.

The vacuum from plastic or glass cups lifts tissue to allow an improved blood through an area to aid healing

 

Gua Sha

The description makes it sound worse then it is .  Gua Sha involves the use of a tool made of jade or metal to scrape the surface of the skin to break down muscle knots and improve blood flow.

 

 Moxibustion and electro -acupuncture.

Both are techniques that enhance the effect of acupuncture needles.

Moxibustion involves the heating  of the herb mugwort, this can be in the form of smokeless cones or raw herb in sticks. Moxa warms an area to help it become more active and now is becoming more common use to help in the turning of breech babies.

Electro acupuncture uses a small electrical current that is passed through the needles and helps to relieve muscle tension or to help with bladder issues.
